I’m a freelance graphic designer and art director based in Johannesburg, South Africa, with 16 years of experience across branding, digital design, and advertising. I have completed 500+ projects for 40+ brands, including Mercedes-Benz, Nedbank, FNB, and Vodacom, and hold a Silver Pendoring award for my print advertising work. From logo design and corporate identity to web design and full digital campaigns. I combine strategic thinking with hands on execution. Freelancers offer direct access to senior talent, and lower overhead; agencies offer larger team capacity at a higher rate.
How much does a freelance graphic designer cost in South Africa?
Prices can differ significantly based on seniority. In my case I charge an hourly rate of R620, but discount the amount based on company size and project scale. The larger the scale of your project, the more I discount my rate to accommodate your needs.
How do I hire a freelance designer or art director for a campaign?
I require an initial brief or project description. From there I try my best to understand your needs, consider the end-result, and suggest the best route based on my knowledge. From there we quote the project and once accepted we get started on your project.
Does Sean Viljoen offer web design as well as graphic design?
I offer a wide variety of services. These include branding and brand establishment to build the foundation, web design to help establish your digital footprint and finally design for marketing purposes to help get your brand out there.
Does Sean work on video, animation, or illustration projects?
Included in my service offering is video editing, grading and animation. Using illustration as the base to build motion graphics on.
