Below the Line

Shout for a safer South Africa, Shout SA in collaboration with Carspa ran a non-profit campaign to spread awareness about the crime in our country. The entire design and marketing were centered around this. Hosting a full day where local celebrities got involved to was cars... You heard right, your favorite Zaleb washing your car. The aim of the campaign was to both spread awareness as well as get funding the went towards the underprivileged.


Concept

Cleaning up the streets. Creating awareness about our country and the crime that accompanies living in South Africa. Shout SA joined forces with Carspa and hosted a full day of car washes. The campaign used local celebrities to get more people there. The celebrities were the ones who washed cars on the day.

The below is all my marketing material designed for the event. These were all pro-bono, done for a cause and aiding in our countries growth. A bright, spotless future for both us and our future generations to come.


Invites

As this was all done while I was still a student, the execution had to be improvised completely. Our model for these adverts is my very own gran, such a trooper!

Hand-outs

A good way to spread the word. Printed flyers were distributed across Jozi. With all relevant information and information on which celebs will be at the event.

The printed flyers were handed out at different intersections. Once all celebrities confirmed the design was centred around these. Making the artwork more of a keepsake, the Flyers had space for celebrity signatures underneath each of their images. Turning the flyer into much more than just an informational piece of material.

At the Event

Printable hand-outs were also created. Of these, air fresheners after the wash as well as custom designed branded t-shirts for all celebs involved as well as anyone interested in funding the initiative.

The day went amazingly well with some awesome memories and a great success overall.

The concept allows the campaign to stretch much further than the two current adds, a strong idea with "legs". Both adds were set up and shot by me with some edits i.e the boy is added in afterward (I do still like my gran). The adds surprisingly were shot in the middle of winter and submitted to the Pendoring awards. This campaign did fetch both me and my copywriter a silver student pending award.
